Sutherland's Lodge is perfectly placed to explore our stunning west coast of Scotland.
Our favourite places in Argyll;
A drive through Glen Lonan with lots of Highland cows to see, nice scenery and come out at Taynuilt to collect smoked salmon or trout pate from Inverawe smokehouse for lunch
Take a boat trip over to Kerrera and visit Gylen Castle on a good day armed with a bottle wine and corkscrew
In summer join the Jacobite steam train (the Hogwart Express) from Fort William to Mallaig for the most scenic train ride in Britain
A trip to Mull, if you take the car across make sure to head for Glengorm Castle north of Tobermory to have lunch.
Visit Tobermory with it's colourful seafront and it's many lovely shops. There is a great walk from the Pier toward the lighthouse with wonderful views over the Sound of Mull and return via the golf course
A walk along the Crinan canal and watch the boats travel through the locks and admire the old puffers in the harbour
Drive to Craignish past Ardfern and enjoy peace & quiet and views over Scaba and Jura
A visit to Castle Stalker Cafe and enjoy the views over to one of Scotland's loveliest castles
Head up to Ben Lora for great views over Benderloch and Connel
There are numerous gardens in the area well known for their amazing azalea and rhododendron collections
Or abandon the car and enjoy the many forest trails right on your doorstep and the spectacular countryside at the lodge.
